Thank you to all the fathers who came out on March 1, 2013 in support of "Audubon's bring your child to school day." We appreciate your commitment to your child's education.
Frederick Douglass was quoted as saying, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
On Friday, March 1, 2013 Audubon Middle School and High Achieving /High Ability Gifted Magnet Center hosted our inaugural, “Men Mentoring Boys Day.” We invited all of our young men on campus to invite their Father or any male role model to visit our school for at least one hour that day. We also extended the invitation to all male parents/guardians of any students within our learning community. complied and were ready to engage our special guest.
Audubon invited celebrity guess to visit our campus for this celebration of brotherhood and academic success. They included Sam Cunningham former USC and NFL star and Jonathon Franklin current UCLA running back and projected to be selected in the second round of the upcoming 2013 NFL draft. We also had representation from the following profession to dialogue with our students:

The activities concluded with a yard show in the gym. The California Step Association not only provided a comprehensive history of stepping, but worked with our students during lunch to teach some basic routines.
